Well, we are house hunting once again! For those of you who have been following, this has been something that has been looming for quite some time. Our house went on the market in October 2007, before Calvin was born. With every person who came to see the house, we thought--is this the buyer? Will we have to move? Once Calvin was born and we were settled, I began to look around for another place to move, but with no success. Finding a house to rent that has good water, good location, good security and that is not a run down house needing lots of maintanence is harder than you might think! I didn't find anything at that time so we just left it. Then came the political elections here in March and again in June and the landlord told us that he was going to "sit" on the house for a little while. So for the time being, we were ok.
Then about a month ago, the landlord put the house back on the market and started showing the house again. We told him we were happy to stay here as long as we could until the house sold. We would have 3 months notice when the house sold so that we could pack and leave. Since the landlord is asking for a crazy price for this house, we weren't too worried that we'd be moving any time soon.
Then everything changed when we were robbed. Suddenly Mat and I felt like we didn't want to be here anymore and looked for a new place. Immediately we found the perfect place! It was the first place we looked t after the robbery and really felt God was providing for us in this way. Plus our landlord here told us he wanted to sell this house by the end of 2008. So everything seemed to work out perfectly with the timing. But just yesterday the new landlord of our new house called saying that she had originally offered the house to another couple before us and they just got back with her on it saying they wanted it. Plus she needed to raise the rent from $200 a month to $500!!
So we are back to square one: once again looking for a new place to move to. We only have 3 weeks to find something before we leave for the US. We'd like to move right when we get back, before the start of a new term. So you can be praying for us as we continue the hunt!
