I got a call from another woman, Shereen, in our suburb who had been robbed about 2 months ago. She called me to tell me that as she has been giving as much information as possible to the officer in charge of our case, the officer told her that think they may know who the “leak” to all these robberies has been. Mat and I thought we were just robbed by chance and that it was “our turn” as these robbers had been hitting other houses in our neighborhood, but it turns out that the maids and gardeners at these houses in our suburb were leaking information to the robbers about which houses would be good houses to hit, etc. The officer told Shereen that they suspect the main leak to the robbers was a gardener of an American couple who lived in our suburb! We were the only Americans that we knew of in our suburb and when Shereen asked the officer if they meant the gardener of the Pelletiers, the officer said yes! My heart sunk when I heard this information—how could Melusi do such a thing? How could he be leaking information about us and all the other families in our neighborhood? He certainly would have gotten some money from the robbers for his cooperation! Anyway, I told Shereen that Melusi was caught stealing from us and 2 weeks after we fired him, we were robbed. Melusi would have known our routine as to when we locked up the house and when we went to bed and the best place to break into our property! I told Shereen where Melusi was now working. Shereen told me she'd report all this information to the officer in charge of the case. So we shall see what will happen to Melusi!
