Finally, the day we'd been waiting for since we moved into this house!  Water!  This house has really low water pressure, most likely due to the fact that we are the last house on the street so we get whatever water remains in the pipeline after everyone else has taken their water first.  Also, water pressure is just low here in general as the pipes are so old that they can't handle high pressure without bursting.  So we inquired, researched, called, price compared and got advice about how to go about installing a water tank and pressure tank/pump.  The water tank holds 5000L of water and the pressure tank and pump pumps the water into the house at the right pressure so that you can take showers, flush toilets, do laundry and all the other normal things one wishes to do within their house.  After much research, coordination with the owner of the house, talking to the installation man and after having our gardner dig for 3 days to find the mains water pipe and dig trenches, today we got it all hooked up.  It took the 2 guys all day to lay the pipes, install proper filters and the pump, etc.  When we tested the system, it works perfectly with just one slight problem.  The master bathroom is connected to a different pipeline than the rest of the house so we still have to have the gardener dig up more of the yard to find this extra pipe so that we can connect the master bathroom to the tank system.  But hey, we are almost there.  I did several loads of laundry tonight as I enjoyed the simple fact of pressing start and the machine beeps when it is finished--no more pouring 20L of water in the machine to get it to start and pouring another 20L in to get the machine to do its final cycle in order to finish.  Amazing!  We're so thankful to have this all set up.  But now we need to brick up the pressure pump as soon as possible so that it won't get stolen!
