We are getting into the heart of winter and boy does it get cold here!  Each year I forget just how important it is to get firewood as this is our only source of heat for the winter.  Throughout this month, Mat kept saying that we needed to find firewood, but of all the places we knew, no one was selling.  In town, people sell about 5 little pieces of wood in a bundle for .60 cents, which doesn't sound like much, but when you use 4-5 of these bundles each night, it adds up fast!  In the past, we've gone to teak furniture places and have filled up the back of a truck with their off cuts of wood for a reasonable amount of money.  But this year, none of the teak furniture places are selling.
Finally after calling several places, I heard of another teak furniture place 15 minutes out of town.  For $12, we could buy a truckload full of off cuts!  So I went with a friend yesterday and we shared a truckload of firewood.  Then today we went back for more!  How amazing that we found so much wood for a reasonable amount of money.  The firewood we purchased should last us the entire winter, which is fantastic.  It makes me laugh that something so simple as firewood can bring such a sense of accomplishment!.
