Well, today was our 3rd wedding anniversary. The day began with getting Calvin up in the morning only to find that he had done such a MASSIVE pooh in the night that it was leaking out the legs of the diaper all over him and his clothes. In fact, his sheets even had a bit of pooh juice on them! So I woke Mat up and asked him to help me give Calvin a bath as I cleaned up the mess. As I'm rinsing out Calvin's pajamas and Mat is washing Calvin's bum, Mat says, "Well Happy Anniversary to us!" :)
We went out to breakfast as a family and enjoyed having a little time out together. Mat had made dinner reservations as well at a castle that is about 1 mile from where we live. So we dropped off Calvin at a friend's house and went to dinner. The Nesbitt Castle had amazing food and amazing service. You really feel like you are being treated like royalty. We started off with some drinks and appetizers. We asked for the price of a bottle of South African wine, which we know is a cheap bottle of wine--perhaps $6 a bottle if purchased in South Africa. The waiter came back telling us that a bottle was $70! (One thing you must note is that everyone is ripping everyone off here in Zimbabwe at the moment. People know that you can't buy anything in Zimbabwe, so they'll import items and mark the prices up to exhorbatant rates!) Our jaws hit the floor, so Mat ran home and brought some of our box wine with him back to the restaurant as most restaurants allow you to bring your own beverages. We laughed at how we were having such a fancy meal topped off by a fine box of wine! :)
We talked about things we've learned about ourselves over the past 3 years and areas we want to improve on in our lives. We remembered some of our most favorite moments that we shared together as well. All in all, it was a good day--happy to have 3 years under out belt!
