Mat left this morning with two other lecturers from TCZ to go to Hwange National Park. Once every year, Hwange will have volunteers come to the park, station them at a certain post or watering hole in the park and have them count the number of animals that they see. This gives the park a close estimate of how many animals are still living in the park. Mat has been SO excited for this weekend for a few weeks now and spent the entire morning packing for the weekend.
Meanwhile, I've been hanging out with the girls! Last night a few friends and I went to a shop called "Afrodizziac" where they were helping host a wine and cheese night to benefit one of the local private high schools in Bulawayo. We had fun rating these South African wines, munching on imported cheese and trying to get the ladies with the appetizer trays to keep coming back to our table. All in all, we had a fun time hanging out together.
Tonight, my friend Jo invited me over to her mother-in-laws house for dinner. Her daughter, Hannah, is a few months older than Calvin and just adores him! It was fun watching her play with him. Calvin discovered his love for the teletubbies (oh, great--did not want him to like those freaky things). Hannah had some teletubby dolls and Calvin was going crazy over them! We ate dinner, bathed the kids and sat down for dessert while Calvin drank his bottle. I set Calvin upright after his bottle and he gave a great belch, throwing up most of his milk and lots of his dinner which landed all over my pants! Sick! It was the first time he had done that. I don't think he is sick, but just got an air bubble under all that food I guess. Anyway, I couldn't change pants, so just rolled up my pant legs for the rest of the evening.
So far, it has been an eventful evening for all of us, Calvin, Kayle and Mat!
