Let me tell you a bit about my week and how everything just seems to go wrong:

Monday: I wake up to find out that our maid up and left over the weekend as we were away!  No warnings, just gone!  So I spend over 2 hours just doing dishes and spend the morning doing some unexpected cleaning.  We had purchased a new faucet in Botswana over the weekend as our kitchen faucet had broke.  Mat installed it, but water was leaking on the floor.  When he went to tighten the bolt, the bolt broke and then we had leaking water.  We tried to shut of the main water to our house, but it was dripping hot water from the hot water tank.  So all day and night I was soaking up the water on our kitchen floor with a towel until the plumber could come the next day.

Tuesday: We had purchased parts to get an electric gate installed at the house.  The guy who will install it came to have a look and to give a price quote, but told us we needed one more part that can only be purchased across the border.  Also, we were supposed to get our leaking roof fixed, but the company to fix it still hadn't gotten the parts needed across the border as they said they would.  Also we are nearly out of cash, which we can only get out of an ATM across the border.  Great!  Also, our gardener who is fantastic, told us a few weeks ago that he would be leaving us at the end of March so that he can get into business, but that he'll bring his brother and train him up to take his place.  His brother arrived  today fresh out of the bush and speaks no English (only Tonga and no one in Bulawayo speaks Tonga).  Casper, the brother, arrived and was majorly culture shocking as he'd never been out of the villages.

Wednesday: My friend told me she was crossing the border so when I called today to give her my shopping list, I found out I was too late and she had already left to go shopping across the border!  This means that the several projects we are trying to get up and going at the house (fix leaking roof, installing electric gate, installing the generator, etc) cannot be done until I find a way to get these parts!  Mat tells me that we've spent up half of our April's salary so these projects can't be finished anyway until we have money...ahhh...so when will these projects ever get done?

Thursday: We went to Harare for the day to help out with a church conference.  Our flight was delayed and we nearly missed the meeting which we had specifically traveled there for.  I left Calvin with a friend and felt a bit guilty the whole time for leaving him all day.

Friday: I have to leave Calvin with a friend again this morning as I had to teach.  More guilt.  Mat has been trying to “fix” my computer which is completely out of commission for over 3 weeks now.  I can't show a power point to my class because my computer doesn't work.  I also find out that our update letter I sent didn't go through as I didn't save it right.  Nothing seems to work this week and the tears just start falling!  I make a haircut appointment and as I leave to go, it pours down rain.  Calvin and I get soaked in the process!

Saturday: My one day to check my emails and catch up with what I need to do online.  I go to the college only to type up one email and then the power goes out.  I didn't even get to send that one email!  Great!   Oh, did I mention that our refridgerator stopped working?
