Today is Mother’s Day.  Mat and I had planned to go to this new health store that is opening up in Bulawayo.  It has all sorts of imported nuts, dried fruits, cereals, fresh fruit smoothies, etc.  They were having their grand opening on Mother’s Day; however, the day was filled with stuff to do with the new team of Americans that have just arrived for the summer and also with church commitments and we weren’t able to make it.  I was pretty bummed about that.  Also, Calvin just had a day of spitting up more than normal…he just kept spitting up all over me and himself all day long.  I looked at Mat and said, “Well, Happy Mother’s Day to me!”  I was feeling pretty sorry for myself as I also was just feeling tired and had a headache.  I was wondering as a mom, who is there to feel sorry for me?  When you are a kid, your mom feels sorry for you, but when you are a mom, who is there to feel sorry for you?  Just as I was wallowing in my own self-pity, Mat said, “Kayle, dinner’s ready!”  Mat had cooked a wonderful meal for me for Mother’s Day and we enjoyed dinner together as a family.  It was really nice and by the end of the night, I felt much better!
