This weekend was graduation weekend.  It was our first that we've been able to attend since we've been here in Zimbabwe.  Friday night was a dinner to honor the graduates, their families and those who have supported them throughout their time as they studied.  It was SO nice to see some of these students again and hear about how their ministries are going since they finished school in December.  One student I talked to, Owen, is in Botswana preaching at a church there and is in the process of learning Setswana, the local language of the people.  He said that ministry was challenging, but that he was growing and was so thankful for his TCZ education!  Saturday was the graduation ceremony.    Unfortunately I was personally attending to Calvin in between pictures and the “processional” (when the faculty and students walk in) so I did not get to participate much in the ceremony.  However, several students gave testimonies to their time at TCZ, awards were granted to top students, students were given their certificates, and photos were taken.  The best part was our guest speaker who warned about the temptation to “idolize self” now that students have their diplomas!  He was candid and honest in that these diplomas are meant to prepare us to serve others and NOT to elevate us above others.  All in all, it was a great day and an encouraging time to hear about what students are now doing in ministry!
